Camping Permit - Glenelg Shire Council - Victoria

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to camp, keep or use a caravan on private land or council land that is not part of designated camping ground or caravan park. Please note that it is an offence to camp or sleep in a vehicle overnight whilst the vehicle is parked on a road.

 

You will also require this permit if you intend to use the caravan for accommodation for a continuous 30 days or less in a 6 month period in the case of vacant private land.

To be eligible for this permit, you may need to provide a certificate of currency for public liability insurance with a minimum of $10 million cover.

If you are not the land owner, you may need to provide written permission to camp from the land owner:

If your camping site is in a bushfire area or flood overlay, you may need to provide an emergency management plan.
