You will need this permit to keep more than five number of animals at one premises. Animals requiring this permit may include domestic animals such as cats, dogs, guinea pigs and rabbits as well as poultry and livestock such as horses, cattle, sheep and goats in rural areas.
Generally, the keeping of any number of livestock is prohibited in non-rural areas unless your local council has granted you a permit.
