Permit to Keep Animals - Victoria

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to keep more than a specified number of animals at one premise. Animals requiring this permit may include domestic animals such as cats, dogs, guinea pigs and rabbits. This permit may also be required for unusual animals, poultry, livestock and other farm animals.

Generally, the keeping of any number of livestock is prohibited in non-rural areas unless your local council has granted you a permit.

  • The address at which the animals will be kept;
  • The reason the animals are desired to be kept;

  • The total area available to each animal and measure proposed to prevent nuisance.
