Permit to Keep General Livestock - East Gippsland Shire Council - Victoria

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to keep general livestock in non-rural areas (i.e. areas not specified by a planning scheme). You will need to contact your local council to ascertain which areas are covered by a planning scheme.

Some exemptions may apply, such as where you hold a planning permit that allows for the keeping of livestock. For the purposes of this permit general livestock includes, but is not limited to, animals such as:

  • horses
  • cattle
  • sheep
  • pigs
  • poultry
  • ratites
  • buffalo
  • camels
  • alpacas
  • deer
