Description

You might need a permit to burn any material or light a fire. This applies to burning in the open and burning material in an incinerator.

This permit may be required for burning on public and private land.

Other restrictions may apply in periods of high fire danger depending on your council.

You will need to get your application form signed by the Captain or Officer in Charge of the Local Fire Brigade for your area.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

A separate permit from State fire authorities may be required during high fire seasons.
