Permit to Move or Drive Animals / Livestock on Roads - Horsham Rural City Council - Victoria

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to drive or move livestock along a road or through a public area, for the purpose of moving animals from one area to another.

 

The moving of livestock can only be undertaken during daylight hours, and stock should not be led on a road at night except in the case of an emergency, or to lead the stock to or from a dairy. Placement of Stock ahead signs will need to be placed behind and ahead of the livestock.

 

Livestock includes but is not limited to, horses, cattle, swine, sheep, goats and deer.

Please note that you will only require this permit if you are driving livestock from outside of the municipal district through the municipal district (to a destination outside of the municipal district) or into the municipal district.

 

You do not require this permit if you are driving livestock from within the municipal district to a destination within or out of the municipal district, provided you comply with certain conditions.
