Permit to Place Signs - Glenelg Shire Council - Victoria

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to place an advertising sign, banner or flag on a building, road or footpath. For example, approval may be required for the placement of A-frame sandwich boards, business signage on a building, temporary or movable / mobile signs.

Approval may also be required for the use of commercial signage mounted on vehicles and / or trailers.

Placing movable advertising signs / A-frame sandwich boards on a footpath may require permission under a footpath trading application.

It is recommended that you contact your local council prior to erecting, placing or affixing any type of signage.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

You will require, among other things, public liability insurance ($10 million minimum). Please consult the Contact Officer for further information.

Duration

Permit is valid from the date for issue to 31 August of the following year.
