You will need this permit to import, keep, sell, or release a pest animal in Victoria for the following purposes:
- research and education
- animal display and exhibition
- primary production
- limited commercial purposes.
Pest animals are non-native (introduced) species that are or could become established in the wild, and threaten the environment, human health or farms.
There are five permit types:
- pest animal approved collections (zoo) permit
- pest animal approved collections (animal exhibition) permit
- pest animal research/education collections permit
- pest animal private collections permit
- pest animal special collections permit.
