Pipeline Licences - Victoria

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to construct or operate a pipeline.

This licence applies to any pipelines used to carry:

  • petroleum
  • oxygen
  • carbon dioxide
  • hydrogen
  • nitrogen
  • compressed air
  • sulphuric acid
  • or methanol.

Your licence will specify the authorised route of the pipeline. The pipeline must be constructed along the authorised route.

The consent of the Agency is required prior to commencing construction or operation of the pipeline.

To be eligible for a licence you must:

  • have a Safety Management Plan approved by Energy Safe Victoria
  • have an Environment Management Plan approved by the relevant Agency
  • submit a scaled map that indicates proposed pipeline corridor.
