You will need this registration if you intend to register your community service, contract cleaning or security business to provide workers with coverage under the Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme.

To be eligible for this registration, you must register within 3 months of becoming an employer in the industry.

Please note, currently the Scheme only covers workers employed in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries.

Employers are required to register their covered workers for the Scheme through their quarterly return. Each quarter you must ensure that you have included new workers in your quarterly return.

Disqualified persons or entities

Employers do not need to register if they are:

  • local, state or federal government bodies
  • an entity that has a governing board appointed by a state or federal Act
  • another statutory body.
