You will require this permit if you intend to:
- display for reward
- release into Victorian waters
- sell Protected Aquatic Biota (PAB).
For the purposes of this permit PAB means any taxon or community of aquatic flora or fauna declared to be protected under the Act, and includes species of the family Syngnathidae (seahorses, sea dragons and pipefish) and the great white shark.
Typically an institution or public museum, a tertiary research student, an aquaculture business or dredging operation may require this permit.
