You will need this licence to take, trade in or keep protected fish. Protected fish are species of fish that are listed on the Threatened List.
Common species of protected fish include:
- Trout Cod
- Australian Grayling
- Tasmanian Whitebait
- Brown and Dwarf Galaxias.
Permits are usually granted for educational, research or conservation purposes only.
Please note, if you intend to conduct these activities in parks and waterways managed by Parks Victoria, you will also need to apply for an Access Agreement.
