You will need this permit or licence to disturb, capture, take samples from or remove protected flora for research, education or management purposes.
There are 3 ways that plants may qualify as protected flora:
- plant species that are listed as threatened
- plant species belonging to communities that are listed as threatened
- plant species that have been declared to be protected.
Please note, if you intend to conduct these activities in parks and waterways managed by Parks Victoria, you will also need to apply for an Access Agreement.
