Registration as a Bookmaker's Key Employee - Victoria

Description

You will need this registration if you are employed by a bookmaker to:

  • act in a managerial capacity
  • be involved in a decision-making capacity in the bookmaking business
  • act as a substitute for a registered bookmaker at an approved racecourse.

A bookmaker provides wagering services to the general public at race courses, sporting grounds or an approved off-course premises. They take bets or wagers on behalf of racing punters, and issue winnings.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration, you must:

  • be at least eighteen years old
  • complete the approved application form
  • pay the prescribed application fee
  • consent to a police check, and finger and palm printing
  • provide any other information required by the Agency.

Approval is at the discretion of the Agency, the Agency will take into account the following:

  • your character, honesty and integrity
  • the reputation of your associates.

Up to ten years, subject to any conditions specified in relation to approval of registration

  • two passport sized colour photographs of yourself
  • a National Police Certificate
  • a Personal Credit File Certificate
  • identification
  • if you are licensed in another State or Territory, a clearance document from the registration body of that State or Territory.
