Registration of Cats and Dogs - Mornington Peninsula Shire Council - Victoria

Description

You will require this registration if you are the owner of a cat or dog that is over three months old.

This registration covers all dogs (including dangerous dogs) that are used for security or similar uses. A dog is considered to be a dangerous dog if:

  • the dog is kept as a guard dog for the purpose of guarding non-residential premises
  • the dog has been trained to attack or bite a person.

Conditions may be imposed on registration, including the enclosure used to contain the dog.

Dogs and cats will need to be implanted with a prescribed permanent identification device (microchip) prior to registration unless otherwise specified.
