You will require this licence if you intend to operate a rooming house within Victoria, or to continue running an existing rooming house that has not been previously registered.
A rooming house is a property that:
- has one or more rooms available
- is available for four or more people to occupy
- has tenants that reside in the property and pay rent.
Existing rooming house operators must apply for a licence. Rooming house managers are not required to hold a licence.
Please consult the responsible agency for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
