Temporary Limited Liquor Licence - Victoria

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to supply alcohol at a one-off event or short series of events.

There are a number of event types that can be licensed: 

  • one-off events
  • temporary increase of trading hours or licensed venue area
  • theatre production or season
  • point-of-sale for sporting events
  • sell alcohol online, mail orders or gift hampers
  • liquor festival or event
  • all other events including seasonal events. 

If more than 5,000 people will attend the event, you may need a major event liquor licence.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To apply you must be:

  • at least 18 years of age
  • consent to your information being shared with Victoria Police and the local council. 

If your event will trade after 1 am and is located within City of Melbourne, City of Yarra, Stonnington Council or City of Port Phillip, you will be required to complete the late night (after 1 am) liquor licence supplementary form.
