Vessel Mooring Authority - Victoria

You will require this authority if you intend to keep your vessel moored or berthed in Port Phillip Bay or Western Port Bay. There are three types of authorised mooring:

  • annual moorings
  • destination moorings (you must call the Agency upon arrival at a berth and there is no guarantee of retaining the same berth)
  • seasonal moorings.

In order to moor your vessel in a particular location you need to obtain an annual mooring authority, which will give you the right to occupy a particular site within the waters of either Port Phillip Bay or Western Port Bay.

Please consult the responsible agency for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
