Commercial Operator Licence (COL) - Victoria

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to operate a business which involves the ground application of agricultural chemicals (e.g. herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, vermin destroyers, avicides or fumigants) or provides any agricultural spraying for fee or reward. This permit covers the use of an approved chemical product, fertiliser or stock food, or a prescribed class of chemical products, fertiliser or stock food.

There are three types of COL endorsements, each with different training requirements:

  • commercial use of agricultural chemicals in agriculture or horticulture including forestry, post-harvest treatment and weed / insects / disease control using herbicides
  • controlling vermin (rabbits, foxes, birds)
  • agricultural or horticultural fumigation.

A licence can have any or all of the endorsements provided the appropriate training is completed.

Please consult the responsible agency for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
