Local Knowledge Certificate - Victoria


You will require this certificate if you are the master of a commercial vessel and intend to enter or leave an area that the Safety Director has declared to need a Local Knowledge Certificate. These areas are declared in the gazette.

The minimum lengths for vessels who require this certificate are:

  • Trading vessels twelve metres or greater; or
  • Fishing vessels thirty-five metres or greater.
