You may need to follow this code of practice if you intend to design and maintain acetylene equipment and customer installations. Following this code of practice will assist you to achieve compliance with the health and safety duties and minimum standards required under work health and safety (WHS) legislation. 

This standard covers the basic requirements for the safe and correct design and maintenance of an acetylene plant as well as customer installations.
