You will need this approval and registration if you intend to work as a veterinary nurse.

With this approval, you may:

  • assist a registered veterinary surgeon to perform procedures on animals
  • provide certain veterinary services (such as, dental work, under supervision)
  • examine and provide basic care (such as, wound dressing, without supervision).

  • be a fit and proper person to practice as a veterinary nurse

If you hold other qualifications or have experience, you can apply to be assessed in order to determine whether you meet the registration requirements.
