Description

You need approval if you intend to hold a non-thoroughbred horse race with a stake, prize or for betting purposes. This approval does not cover the holding of a thoroughbred horse or a harness race.

  • not be a registered racing club
  • not be eligible to apply to become a registered racing club
  • ensure there is no Approved Racing Organisation eligible to hold the race.

You will also need to supply the agency with a copy of the rules under which the race is proposed. To grant this approval, the agency must be satisfied that the rules you have provided are suitable.
