Approval to Keep Poultry, Pigeons and Other Birds - Shire of Denmark - Western Australia

Description

You may require this approval if you intend to keep poultry, pigeons or other birds on your property. Poultry includes fowls, peafowls, turkeys, geese and ducks.

Whether this approval is required may vary according to the zoning of your property. Approval is often required in land zoned as residential. Your Council may also prohibit the keeping of certain kinds of birds in certain areas. An owner or occupier of a premises may not have more than 12 poultry and pigeons without the approval of the local government.

You may be required to keep your poultry in a structure or enclosure that meets Council specifications.
