You will require this approval if you intend to keep a combined total of more than 12 poultry and pigeons on a premises less than 0.5 of a hectare, within a town site. You will also require approval if you intend to keep one or more of the following fowl on such premises:
- Roosters;
- Geese;
- Turkey;
- Peacock; or
- Game birds (including emus and ostriches).
You must ensure that your poultry are kept in accordance with the conditions for keeping poultry set out in the Health Local Law.
