Approval to Keep Poultry, Pigeons and Other Birds - City of Wanneroo - Western Australia

Description

You may need this approval if you intend to keep poultry, pigeons or other birds on your property. Poultry includes fowls, peafowls, turkeys, geese and ducks.

Whether this approval is required may vary according to the zoning of your property. Approval is often required in land zoned as residential. Your council may also prohibit the keeping of certain kinds of birds in certain areas. Limitations may also apply to the number of birds that you are allowed to keep on your property.

Prior to the granting of the registration to keep pigeons, the applicant must seek the written opinion of all owners and occupiers surrounding the land owned by the applicant. This land, unless otherwise previously approved, must not have an area less than 600m2.
