Approval to Open or Use a Public Building - Western Australia

Description

If you intend to open or use a public building where people will assemble for activities, gatherings or prearranged events, the building will need to be inspected and approved to ensure it meets a range of emergency, safety and amenity requirements.

A public building is a building or similar structure where persons may assemble for social, business, religious, entertainment, recreational or similar purposes. Examples of public buildings include churches, private schools, cinemas, pubs, nightclubs, recreation centres, circuses, halls and auditoriums. Crown owned buildings and hospitals are exempt.
