Aquatic Facility Operator Permit - Western Australia

Description

You will need this permit if you intend to operate an aquatic facility such as a swimming pool, spa, ice bath, water slide or water park. This permit is available for four different classes of facilities:

  • Group 1 - Facilities available to the public on the payment of an entry fee.
  • Group 2 - Schools, learn to swim centres, nursing homes, hospitals and hydrotherapy or physiotherapy use pools.
  • Group 3 - Discrete access facilities and commercial developments like hotels, resorts, mining camps, health clubs and serviced apartments.
  • Group 4 - Small temporary accommodation developments (such as a bed and breakfast or farm stay facility) and residential or retirement developments with more than 30 units but no public access.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit you must:

  • have one or a number of certificates of compliance that cover your entire facility
  • have staff that are suitably qualified for the class of aquatic facility you are operating
  • ensure your water quality meets the code requirements.
