You may need to comply with this standard if you intend to protect people and property from lightning.

This standard provides guidelines for the protection of people and property from lightning. It applies to conventional lightning protection systems consisting of air terminations, downconductors, earthing systems and surge protective devices. It also provides a comprehensive risk management process for determining the risk of damage due to lightning for a range of structures.
