Australian / New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 1715:2009 Selection, Use and Maintenance of Respiratory Protective Equipment - Western Australia


You will be required to comply with this standard if you are an employer or manager at a mine and are supplying respiratory protective equipment (RPE) to your employees.

You must comply with this standard if it is not practical to control the level of atmospheric contaminants at your mine through a suppression, ventilation or exhaust extraction system and as a result are supplying RPE to your employees. The RPE must meet the requirements set out in this standard.

This standard sets out the principles of respiratory protection, requirements and recommendations for the selection, use and maintenance of personal respiratory protective equipment in the workplace. The version of the Standard you are required to comply with is AS/NZS 1715:2009 - Selection, use and maintenance of respiratory protective equipment.
