Australian New Zealand Standard AS / NZS 1801:1997 Occupational Protective Helmets - Western Australia

You will need to comply with this standard if people in your workplace need to wear protective helmets. You must ensure that the protective helmets supplied to employees comply with this standard.

The standard sets out the requirements for three types of protective helmets reflecting their intended use. It deals with construction of the helmet shell and helmet finish and includes methods of tests. Specific additional performance requirements are given for occupational protective helmets used in high temperature workplaces and for bushfire fighters' helmets based on industrial helmets.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance that may be required.
