Australian New Zealand Standard AS / NZS 2739 Natural Gas (NG) Fuel Systems for Vehicle Engines - Western Australia

You will be required to comply with this standard if you intend to use, install or modify vehicle engines fuelled by natural gas.

You must ensure that your vehicle mobile engine is maintained and serviced by a registered gas fitter, in accordance with this standard.

This standard specifies requirements for natural gas (NG) fuel systems for engines mounted on motor vehicles, either for the propulsion of the vehicle or for driving some auxiliary function (for example a mixer or a pump). It sets out requirements for the design and construction of component parts, their installation in vehicles, and for tests, commissioning, and periodic inspection. It applies to all vehicle types (including rigid chassis, articulated chassis and semitrailers).

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
