Description

You may be required to comply with this standard if you are a network operator. A network operator operates a gas distribution system.

The network operator must comply with this standard in the creation of a safety case. A safety case is a document that sets out the safety management and technical practices and procedures for a gas distribution system.

This standard specifies requirements for design and construction of carbon and carbon-manganese steel pipelines and associated piping and components that are used to transmit single-phase and multi-phase hydrocarbon fluids, such as natural and manufactured gas, liquefied petroleum gas, natural gasoline, crude oil, natural gas liquids and liquid petroleum products.

Please be advised the standard referenced in legislation has since been superseded by Standard 2885.1-2012 Pipelines - Gas and Liquid Petroleum - Design and Construction.
