You may be required to comply with this standard if you are a network operator of, or a contractor working on, an electricity network that is not legally required to have a safety management system.
This standard specifies the procedure for the selection of the standard withstand voltages for the phase-to-earth, phase-to-phase and longitudinal insulation, as well as the installation of, three phase alternating current electrical systems with a voltage above 1 kilovolt.
As a network operator or contractor you have a duty to carry out your activities safely. You may demonstrate that you have met this duty by complying with this standard (where relevant). If your network is legally required to have a safety management system you should instead ensure your work complies with that.
Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
