Australian Standard AS 1973-1993 Pneumatic Tyres - Passenger Car, Light Truck and Truck / Bus - Retreading and Repair Processes - Western Australia

Description

You may need to comply with this standard if you intend to install retreaded tyres on a vehicle.

This does not apply to tyre or wheel assemblies of the 'limited-run-flat' type, the temporary spare, or moped and motorcycle tyres, or to tyres designed primarily for earthmoving, agricultural, industrial, or aviation application.

The standard sets out a code of practice for the retreading of pneumatic diagonal and radial ply tyres, including requirements for initial inspection, processing, marking and final inspection. It also sets out requirements for in-service repairs to tyres and repairs made in conjunction with the retreading process.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
