Australian Standard AS 2380.1-1989 - Electrical Equipment for Explosive Atmospheres - Western Australia


You will need to comply with this standard if you intend to use any electrical equipment in a hazardous area at the site of a mining operation. AS 3000 defines the term hazardous area.

You must ensure that the design, construction and testing of any electrical equipment which you use has been certified by the manufacturer as complying with this standard.

This standard sets out requirements for the construction of electrical equipment that will be used in explosive atmospheres.
