Australian Standard AS 60076 - Power Transformers - Western Australia

You may require this Standard if you are an electricity network operator or electrical contractor and intend to:

  • design
  • construct
  • commission
  • operate
  • maintain
  • decommission an electricity network.

This Standard specifies technical requirements for single and three-phase power transformers (including auto transformers) as well as dry-type transformers.

Complying with this Standard is not mandatory. However, if you can show that you comply with the provisions of this Standard, it will be regarded as evidence that you have met your obligation to carry out electrical work safely. There are two parts of this Standard that are relevant:

  • AS/NZS 60076.1:2014 Power transformers - General (IEC 60076-1, Ed. 3.0 (2011) MOD)
  • AS 60076.11-2006 Power Transformers - Dry-type transformers.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required by your business.
