Australian Standards for Fire Hose Reels at a Caravan Park or Camping Ground - Western Australia


You will be required to comply with these standards if you operate a caravan or camping ground.

A fire hose at your facility must be on a fire reel which is to be installed in accordance with the following standards

  • AS 1221 Fire Hose Reels
  • AS 2441.1 Installation of Fire Hose Reels.

These standards specify requirements for the performance, distribution, location and installation of fire hose reels. Your facility is to be within reach of the nozzle end of a fire hose when the hose is fitted to the reel and laid to avoid any obstructions or other physical barriers.
