Bookmaker's Employee Licence - Western Australia

You will need this licence if you intend to be employed by a bookmaker. A bookmaker is someone who provides wagering (betting) services to the public at race courses or sporting grounds.

This licence allows you to make bets, write betting tickets, and carry out the activities of a bookmaker's clerk in relation to the business of a bookmaker. If the bookmaker who employs you operates as individual (rather than as a partnership or a body corporate), you can also act as an agent or substitute for them.

In order to conduct the activities of a bookmaker at a specific racing course or sporting ground, you must also have received permission from the authority that controls the course or grounds.
