Cannabis Intervention Treatment Provider Approval - Western Australia

Description

You may need this approval if you intend to run cannabis intervention sessions. Under the cannabis intervention requirement (CIR) scheme, the police may issue a CIR notice to people found in possession of cannabis (marijuana), ordering that person to attend a cannabis intervention session instead of charging them with an offence.

A cannabis intervention session is a one-to-one therapeutic intervention that is undertaken by the person issued the CIR notice and a trained alcohol and drug counsellor.
