Description

All cats over the age of 6 months must be registered. If your cat is being registered for the first time, it must be sterilised and micro-chipped prior to registration.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for registration, you must:

  • be over 18 years old
  • ensure that your cat is microchipped and sterilised.

You will be ineligible for registration if you have been convicted of two or more offences under animal legislation in the past three years.

Each property owner is allowed to have up to three cats. If you have four or more cats, you will need to apply for a cattery licence.

Either 1 year, 3 years or for the life of the cat
