Code of Conduct for the Supply of Electricity to Small Use Consumers 2018 - Western Australia


You must comply with this code if you are an electricity marketing agent, retailer, or distributor who supply electricity to residential and small business customers.

This code outlines standards of conduct for various topics, including:

  • connection
  • billing
  • payment
  • payment difficulties and financial hardship
  • disconnection and interruption
  • reconnection
  • pre-payment meters
  • information and communication.

The Code only applies to residential and small business customers who consume no more than 160 MWh of electricity per annum. This equates to an annual electricity bill of approximately $40,000.
