You will need this licence if you intend to completely or partially demolish buildings or structures by pre-planned and controlled methods or procedures.
A licence is required in Western Australia for certain types of demolition works. Only a licence holder or an employee of a licence holder may carry out this type of work.
There are three classes of licence available which authorise different types of demolition work:
- Class 1 Demolition Licence: total or partial demolition of a building or structure that is 10 metres or more in height, pre-tensioned and precast concrete structures, and work involving explosives
- Class 2 Demolition Licence: total or partial demolition of a building or structure that is less than 10 metres in height
- Class 3 Demolition Licence: removal of more than 200 square metres of brittle or fragile roofing material or asbestos cement sheeting from a building or structure not more than 10 metres above the ground.
