You will need your diving project plan accepted by the agency if you are a diving contractor and intend to undertake a diving project without an operator. An operator is:
- a petroleum pipeline licence holder, in relation to pipelines
- a registered offshore petroleum facility operator, in relation to all other facilities.
Diving projects comprise one or more diving operations and include:
- the identification of hazards, assessment of risks and management of safety and health matters associated with a diving operation
- any other activity taken for the purpose of ensuring that a diving operation is carried out in a manner that is safe and without risk to health.
Diving operations are a type of offshore petroleum operations that comprise one or more dives relating to the exploration, recovery, processing, storage, offloading or piped conveyance of petroleum.
