Diving Start-up Notice - Western Australia

Description

You will need to notify the agency if you intend to start a diving project.

You must notify the agency at least 14 days before the day on which the operation is expected to begin.

Diving projects comprise one or more diving operations and include:

  • the identification of hazards, assessment of risks and management of safety and health matters associated with a diving operation
  • any other activity taken for the purpose of ensuring that a diving operation is carried out in a manner that is safe and without risk to health.

Diving operations are a type of offshore petroleum operations that comprise one or more dives relating to the exploration, recovery, processing, storage, offloading or piped conveyance of petroleum.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to make this notice:

  • the diving contractor's diving safety management system must have been accepted by the agency
  • the operator of the diving project must provide a start-up notice to the agency.

If there is no operator, the diving contractor will need to provide a start-up notice to the agency.
