You will need to your environmental management plan approved by the agency if you intend to operate a petroleum, geothermal or pipeline activity.
There are three types of environment plans that need approval:
- onshore geothermal or petroleum environment plans
- offshore petroleum environment plans
- petroleum pipeline environment plans.
Geothermal activity means:
- any operations or works carried out under a geothermal instrument (such as an access authority, permit, lease, licence, etc.)
- any other operations or works carried out relating to geothermal exploration or development which may have an environmental impact.
Petroleum activity means:
- any operations or works carried out in the area adjacent to a petroleum instrument (such as a permit, lease, licence, etc.)
- any other operations or works carried out in the area adjacent to petroleum exploration or development.
Pipeline activity means:
- any operations or works carried out under a pipeline licence
- any other operations or works carried out in relation to a pipeline which may have an environmental impact.
