Code of Practice - Fatigue Management for Commercial Vehicle Drivers - Western Australia

Description

You may need to comply with this code if you intend to drive commercial vehicles. This code applies to commercial vehicle drivers whose work time either:

  • exceeds 60 hours per week
  • exceeds more than 10 hours out of any 24-hour period more than once a week
  • includes the period from midnight to 5:00 am.

Work time includes driving and all the activities that are associated with driving a commercial vehicle.

The purpose of this code is to provide practical guidance to industry on requirements in occupational safety and health regulations for driving commercial vehicles. The regulations establish an operating standard for hours of work and rest and other requirements for the management of fatigue for commercial vehicle operators.
