Fauna Taking (Commercial Products) Licence - Western Australia


You will require this licence if you intend to take or supply fauna for a commercial purpose. Fauna means any animal indigenous to Australia, and any animal that periodically migrates to and lives in Australia and includes any animal declared to be fauna by the Agency.

The licence may specify the:

  • greatest number of each or any species that may be taken, held or disposed of
  • parts of the State in which the fauna may be taken, held or released
  • person or bodies to whom the fauna may be transferred or the way the fauna may be disposed of.

Please note that this licence superseded the professional shooter's licence and licence to take emu eggs.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • provide letters of approval from land holders
  • provide details of any prior convictions relating to wildlife
  • hold a current firearm licence
  • hold a current West Australian marksmanship certificate
  • have completed the required game meat handling and hygiene courses
  • adhere to the relevant codes of practice
  • complete the required forms
  • pay the prescribed fee
  • comply with any additional provisions outlined by the Agency.
