Firearm Manufacturer's Licence - Western Australia

Description

You will need this licence to manufacture firearms or ammunition.

Your licence will:

  • specify the kind of firearms or ammunition you are authorised to manufacture, and the premises on which you are authorised to operate your business.
  • authorise you to sell and dispose of firearms and ammunition at your premises. It will also authorise you to allow employees to use firearms or ammunition for the purpose of testing, or demonstrating its use to a potential purchaser.
  • authorise you to issue firearm serviceability certificates.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be a fit and proper person
  • provide a 100 point proof of identification
  • obtain a firearms awareness certificate
  • have good reason for acquiring or possessing the firearm or ammunition to which the application relates
  • demonstrate sufficient knowledge and the capability to manufacture firearms and ammunition, by having successfully completed an examination set by the Police Department.
