You are required to notify your council if you intend to discharge fireworks outside for a purpose other than an event. You will also need to notify the Fire and Emergency Services Commissioner.
This notification is not required for:
- unrestricted fireworks or sparklers
- fireworks used under an events fireworks permit
- use of a cracker chain at a public ceremony
- use of fireworks by aircraft
- fireworks used in theatrical shows, television or filming.
